FIRST ANNUAL MEETING OF INN, MARCH 11, 2006

The aim of this meet was to discuss about the aims and objectives of INN and also focus on the year 1 plan of identifying tools for determining high-risk individuals for NCD. Dr. V. Mohan, President, Madras Diabetes Research Foundation, Chairman & Chief of Diabetology, Dr. Mohan’s Diabetes Specialities Centre, Chennai highlighted the aims and goals of INN. The members present unanimously selected Madras Diabetes Research Foundation as the secretariat of INN. Several suggestions were given by the members about future activities of INN, which included writing of grant proposals as a network for identifying high risk individuals of NCDs, formulating prevention strategies and motivating young researchers to take up research projects related to NCDs.  Further it was suggested to start a website dedicated to INN for posting the activities under this network and to form a core committee to make decisions regarding the network.
